Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture was developed in the 1930s in China as an extension of hand manipulation of acupuncture needles. The procedure of Electro-Acupuncture usually involves that small electrodes get attached to the inserted needles. The electrodes provide a gentle vibration that stimulates the energy flow through these points. The procedure is very soothing to the patient, providing a soft humming sensation of the needle. While Electro-Acupuncture may be used as a component of almost all acupuncture treatments, it has garnered especially good results regarding the treatment of musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, spasms, neurological diseases, and paralysis. The duration of standard treatment with Electro-Acupuncture is usually 20-30 minutes.
